With most files, tooth size is proportional to tool length; the longer the tool, the larger the teeth. I find the 6"- and 8"- long round files are most useful in the woodshop, as the 10" is a bit too aggressive. When it comes to flat and half-round files, I find the 8" and 10" long double-cut bastard files best for woodworking.
